Keto Peanut Butter Cups
Homemade sugar-free peanut butter cups with a snappy chocolate shell and creamy salted peanut center. Better than the candy-aisle version at just two net carbs each.
The candy cup, made clean
The classic peanut butter cup is off-limits on keto thanks to a sugar-heavy shell and filling, but rebuilding it at home is surprisingly easy. Sugar-free dark chocolate makes a proper snappy shell, and a simple peanut-butter-and-butter filling sets up firm and creamy in the fridge.
The one technique worth nailing is the layered pour: a chocolate base, a chilled filling disc, then a chocolate top, each set briefly before the next. That is what gives you clean layers instead of a marbled mess.
- Chill each layer before adding the next
- Add a pinch of salt to the filling for balance
- Use a silicone mold for easy release

Recipe FAQ
Why did my chocolate turn soft at room temperature?
The coconut oil keeps the shell easy to bite but also lowers its melting point, so the cups soften if left out. Store them in the fridge or freezer and serve them cold for the best snap.
Can I use milk chocolate?
Use any sugar-free chocolate you like, including keto milk chocolate. Just check the net carbs on the label, as some sweetened milk chocolates carry more carbs than dark, which will raise the count per cup.
